Compare quality versus quantity
Quantity:
The mind seeks regularities in things. It categorizes them in properties. When things share an equivalent property, it becomes possible to quantify it in everything. Quantity is that the strength of this common relational criterion. counting on whether the property is seen as continuous or discontinuous, the number is named magnitude or multitude. Quantify the magnitude used 'greater than', 'less than', 'equal to'. Quantifying the multitude uses numbers.
Quality:
The set of properties of a specific thing. Quality isn't curious about the very fact that these properties are shared but, on the contrary, united within the same thing. the standard differs from the 'substance' within the incontrovertible fact that all of its properties don't do the entire thing. It remains of the unknown. Quality may be a proprietary concept of the mind, and therefore the substance a proprietary concept of the important.
Qualitative is that the superimposition of quantitative information levels (those that are known). Sometimes a proper model doesn't exist yet for this entanglement. Nevertheless, each level intervenes within the quality of the formed entity. this is often how we will build the notion of 'qualia' for consciousness.
Levels of data can have similar quantitative dimensions. for instance, many properties are supported distance. Models of those levels are often interchangeable. Other dimensions aren't similar. The spin isn't interchangeable with a spatial dimension.
Finally, you recognize in fact the false friend of 'quality' in everyday language, which suggests the excellence of a thing. A 'quality' even more owner of the mind since each of its iterations under our skulls gives a private quality to each thing.
